I first came to Germany in 1979 as a member of the USA Regular Army. After spending 4 years of regular service, I decided to unlist and left the service in May of 1979. Two months later I returned to Germany and started in July 1979 working for my first German employer - Mainz Industries Panzerwerk GmbH, then located in Mainz-Gonsenheim. Between 1985 and 1988 I pursed a Associate in Computer Studies and a BA in Management Studies. In 1988 I was offered a position in the Information Management Department as a System Analyst. With a workforce of over 3,000 employees (next to GE CompuNet) this was my largest employer to date. From here, I moved towards a more hands-on career in IT since my interest was to become more involved in the intricacies of networking.The rest is history
